Centenary UMC: A Call To Mission –
4 Back-2-School
Romans 12:4-8 [NRSV] 4For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, 5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. 6We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; 7ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; 8the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.
Going broke sending the kids back to school?
If the words “school supplies” call to mind a few pencils, a notebook, maybe a Trapper Keeper, get ready for the new math: the average K-12 parent will spend $100 per student on school supplies this year!
Centenary UMC will be collecting school supplies again this year.

A collection box will be in the hallway outside the office during the month of August to collect school supplies.
SUGGESTIONS INCLUDE – 2” (or larger) binders, notebooks and filler paper, pens, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, erasers, scissors, glue or glue sticks, 3X5 index cards, dry erase markers, calculators, and especially back packs. When we work together, we CAN offer our love! Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Blessing of the Backpacks – Sunday, August 19th at 10:00 am
Supply Distribution Day – Friday, August 31st at 10:00 & 5:00
